If I purchase an account, which server will I be placed on?
All new accounts are currently being added to the Alpha server. This server has state of the art Intel Dual XEON Dual Core processors, with 8 GB DDRII RAM (Burstable), and Hot-Swappable SCSI hard drives configured in RAID 10.

Where is the datacenter based?
The datacenter is located at PIPE Networks Brisbane based datacenter. This gives you extremely good latency for customers within Australia. We can also place you on a US-based server, if you specifically require this.

Why is the hosting provided by Brisbane City Web Host so reliable?
Our servers provide 3 layers of protection - firstly, we use hot-swappable SCSI hard drives in a RAID 10 configuration, so that if one drive fails, the others automatically keeps delivering your data. Secondly, an automated nightly backup is run that backs up your data. Lastly, you can do a backup of your own data with just one click from your Control Panel. Of course, it is important to remember that you are responsible for your own data - we highly recommend that you keep your own backups, particularly if your data is important.

What type of servers will my site be hosted on?

Do you provide Windows Based hosting?
No. Brisbane City Web Host only provides Linux based hosting. We do not provide Windows based hosting services.

How long does it take to establish an account?
From the time you complete the order form, your account will be activated in under 12 hours. Usually it is much less than this but please allow 12 hours maximum. Most accounts are activated in just minutes.

If I buy hosting and don't like it, do I get my money back?
Yes. We offer a 30 day Money Back Guarantee, if you are not satisfied with our services.
Account terms are final and there are no refunds of unused time if the service contract is cancelled by the client before the regular renewal date. Any cancellation request shall be effective upon receipt unless otherwise requested.

How fast do you answer support questions?
Support replies are answered ALWAYS within 12 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Most times your support emails are answered within just minutes.

In our Control Panels for each domain name, can we setup email addresses, sub-domains, auto-responders and the like thereof?
Yes, the Control Panel is one of the very best in the industry. You can manage all aspects of your hosting from setting up email addresses to configuring your MySQL databases. It's set out in a friendly manner and it's easy to understand and use.

If I buy BrizBasic and want to upgrade that plan to BrizBiz, is that possible?
Yes, certainly. We will simply require you to contact us via email and your account will seamlessly be upgraded with NO interruption to your current hosting. More information about upgrading or downgrading your account here.

What if I need more resources than the BrizEcom Plan?
If you need more resources than our BrizEcom plan, then you can purchase blocks of 100mb disk space and 1000mb data transfer, for an extra $10.00/mth.

Can I use FrontPage to build my site and host it on your servers?
Yes, we support FrontPage with the very latest FrontPage Server Extensions.

Do you provide a dedicated IP address with each domain name?
There are specific reasons why you might need a dedicated IP, for example an SSL certificate for secure shopping, or for FTP purposes. Dedicated IP's will not be allowed if not for these purposes.
If you do require a dedicated IP, then you will need to purchase one at a cost of $5.50 per month, per IP. Our technical staff would then assign the IP to your domain.
Normal accounts are set up as name-based accounts, and they share the main Brisbane City Web Host IP address. back to top

Do I get a Forum preinstalled with my hosting account?
Yes. You receive absolutely free the powerful PHP, MySQL based PHPbb Forum. This forum is a snap to setup and configure. It's easy to use and industrial strength yet easy on the servers by utilising the PHP programming language and MySQL databases. Please note - we supply you access to this software, we do not provide technical support for it.

Yes. You can instantly install over 12 free software applications, from OScommerce, PHPbb forum, Invision forum and many more, from your cpanel.

Why don't you provide telephone support through a call centre?
Call centres are extremely expensive to operate and would force our prices up significantly. We provide hosting solutions to a range of clients, and telephone support does not efficiently function across that platform whereas web based support does. We find that we can be more specific with web based support compared to verbal support via the phone.
Most importantly, web based support also documents our responses so you can revisit them at a later date rather than trying to make your own notes from a telephone conversation. It also gives everyone else the opportunity to look at the questions people are asking, and provide an answer to them too. back to top

If I sign up for an account, will you provide me with help and assistance?
YES!! First rate and rapid support is absolutely CRITICAL. You can contact us for very fast, friendly and extremely helpful support via email or access our Forums. You can search through the forums and read what others have previously posted about a certain aspect of their hosting. We can all help each other in the forums and by doing this, everybody is a winner.
